Online Therapy

When you don't have the time, availability, or ability to see a therapist in person; online sessions can be another way to get the support you need in a way that fits your life. Research studies, many of which are listed in bibliography format by the Telemental Health Institute, also indicate that telemental health is equivalent to face-to-face care in various settings and an acceptable alternative.

Counseling During Social Distancing

Maintaining your mental wellness is a struggle that many are facing right now. We may be rapidly trying to adjust our lifestyles, but in doing so we ignore the emotional strain it is taking on ourselves and our relationships. Erik Edler, LMFT offers teletherapy and phone sessions to meet you right where you are.

What Is Online Therapy?

Teletherapy can be defined as using technology to gain access to mental health services. Technically, you can receive teletherapy through phone and video. Currently, when people talk about teletherapy, they are most often referring to online therapy provided through video conferencing or by phone sessions.

What: Quality online therapy for:

Where: Provided to you in the comfort of your own home or office! Erik Edler provides online therapy to residents all residents of California.

Why: Easy access: Online options provide easier access to therapeutic support for those with difficulties commuting to in-person therapy sessions or those that prefer to do therapy in the comfort of their home or office.

How: There are 2 ways that I offer online therapy: 1) video sessions and 2) phone sessions. All you need is a comfortable private space, good internet, and smart phone, tablet, laptop or personal computer and we’ll talk together! You simply click on the link that I send and our session will begin.

When: Let’s find some time to talk. We can schedule you for a free 30-minute phone consultation so that we can learn what you need and if online therapy is the right fit for you! If you are interested in scheduling a free consultation to see if online counseling would be a good fit for you, contact us today at 805-868-0767.

What to Expect: Our first session will be an assessment. Think of it as a mental health check up. We will ask lots of questions to get a good sense of who you are and how you might be helped. We will offer recommendations for treatment. They may be with me, or in cases where others would be a better fit, we promise to share that recommendation as well. The first session is not a commitment to therapy. You can choose to proceed or not. It is an opportunity to learn more about yourself and about the process. Each day is a new chance to invest in your best self.
